TIPS® California Responsible Beverage Service

California TIPS® Training is a community-based on premise responsible beverage service (RBS) program to prevent intoxication, DUI/DWI's and sales to minors.

The purpose of the program is to reduce risks and ensure public-safety in the retail  environment. RBS training established three guiding priciples;

  • The CA ABC adopted an alcohol-service policy for ABC-licensed establishments;
  • Established a curriculum for server education and guidelines
  • Developed partnerships between law enforcement, local government and community action groups.

Furthermore, The California Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) provided the top alcohol service training companies with curriculum guidance to ensure consistent training among sellers/servers of alcoholic beverages.

TIPS On-premise, Off-premise, Gaming and Concessions programs are approved by the California Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) statewide. Several counties in the State of California require seller/servers to pass the exam to serve alcohol.
